How Does a school board of directors work?
I live in a Middle Eastern country that rarely adopts a school system where a school board of directors is present.Usually only the principal has all the power and capability in a school's tasks and abilities.I'm researching about how a school with a board of directors work and how it differs, how many people it is ade of, and how tasks are divided...etc Thanks! Note: links would be appreciated!

- In the US, a school board might be appointed by another elected political body (such as a city council) or it might be directly elected by the public at large. There might be 5-10 members on the school board. The school board's function is usually to report to the city council on the quality of the schools and to set school policy. The extent to which principals and the superintendent of schools "report" to the school board can vary. Sometimes the school board has a lot of power, other times they are strictly advisory. A good place to start would be to have a body of about 5 people appointed by the local governance that reports back in an advisory capacity.
