What can be done about greedy CEO's and board of directors as companies continue to fail?

I work for a company that had a stock price of $12.00 per share. After a merger and new CEO our price is about $1.50 and rumor is that the board of directors just got a 25% increase while heads are rolling in all of our plants. This will be the first time in 12 years that we will get no Christmas bonus.

  1. just ask obama to bail you out & the CEO's out lol
  2. The quickest and most effective way to deal with the situation is to have the owners of the business - the shareholders - address it. If these practices are destroying the business it is the shareholders who have as much to lose as anyone, and who are in the best position to change things.
  3. Our government seems to want to keep the failed fatcats in their mansions, while thousands of Americans have lost and are losing their homes. The government doesn't care about average Americans, except as a bottomless source of them to give away to their cronies, failed fatcat executives and just about anyone else, except for the American citizens.
  4. I find it obscene that CEO's get multi million dollar bonus's, they already receive huge salary packages anyway. I work darn hard everyday and always make sure my workload is up to date before going home. I certainly don't expect to get anything other than the salary I work for. They are just greedy.
  5. Go back to school and work your way to the top then you can be privy to 'the greed'. I have never received a Christmas bonus and my husband's company gives them 2 days off at Christmas as their bonus.
  6. Not much. As long as we have poor & middle class republican Americans in red states who like taking it up the azz from greedy CEO's, unfortuantely the practice will continue. Trust me when the American people as a whole have clearly had enough of being whored by these guys, this crap will come to a stop real quick! Until then... bend over itches! Childbreath, the differences between an athelete and a corp exec are numerous. One, an athlete's salary is paid for by the owner of that team. The American people do not pay his or her salary. Secondly, It's entertainment... we are paying for them to entertain us, if we do not want to be entertained by them we simply do not pay to see them. Corporate executives, often employ thousands of Americans. The failure of how they run their businesses can have devastating effects on the nation. If the Dallas Mavericks decide to move to St. Louis tomorrow... who really gives a fck! I doubt they are going to get a billion dollar bailout to move to a bigger stadium... c'mon man think!
  7. You guys like to talk about greedy CEOs who get paid big bucks compared to the average Joe, but how about the pretty faces and the slugs in show biz and all the high-price sports stars who get paid obscene amounts for doing literally nothing? Where's the outrage? Where are the cries for these "special" people to take a pay cut, or even better, place a cap on their earnings? I'm waiting for an answer, people.
