Why not go a step further and slash CEO pay of ALL corporations?
The gap between the executive compensation and compensation of your average employee has widened dramatically over the years. Is it time to narrow that gap? No one should sit on their behind all day or fly in a corporate jet and make 30 mil a year, that is just plain and simple GREED. Fcuk all CEO pigs.

- Because they will quit.......Wait a minute , that would be a great cost savings and new job openings.........SLASH AWAY.........
- If you cut of the snakes head, you don't have to worry about the fangs, but the rest of the body of the snake will wither and die. Are you going to hire all the people who get laid off cause their corporation loses it's glue?
- Sure. I am down with that. Cody, I think you meant to say poo.
- Because ALL corporations did not promise to follow the government's rules after going to Washington and begging for a bailout.
- I think you'll find that the authority doesn't exist. The administration has some control only over those companies still owing TARP money. At one time in this country, there was a concept of fairness in business. Now, it's as predatory as possible. Banks, credit cards, mortgage companies all try to get every nickel they can from people who are least able to protect themselves. It's as though all of American Business was trained by a sleazy, fast-talking used car salesman. It's unrestrained greed and it's as ugly as sin. I suspect President Obama hates that. I know I do.
- Because it is not capitalism. These folks that have our tax dollars are different. The people who invest in these Corps. need to do what the Obama Admin. has just done.
- Fcuk it - maybe Obama and his pay czar should regulate everyone's pay. Let's give all honorable burger flippers $26 / hour (that's a livable wage, right??) and give all evil CEOs $28 / hour. I think that would work perfectly....it shouldn't cause any problems or ruin our economic system. And besides, it would be the "fair" thing to do. Right?? I can't wait until being anti-capitalist is out of style again.....
- Slash the pay of the CEOs who ruin their business and screw over American consumers. The ones that actually do their job right can keep any amount of bonuses they like.
- What about the salary of professional athletes, rock stars, movie stars, etc. I mean if we're cutting the salaries of people who actually do something usefull.. shouldn't the overpaid entertainers get cuts as well?
- I'm for that.
- Have you been reading ahead in Nobama's playbook?
- Because we live in a FREE COUNTRY atleast for now !!! What do you really think it would stop with CEOs, what are you gonna do when they come after the wages of the working poor !
- I hate to start this early in the morning BUT you post is the most ignorant of the day so I can quit reading YA. No intelligent person cares about the spread and wealth redistribution only entices the ignorant and the unemployed. If you want more money for your work produce more you do not take it from someone else. What the hell are they teaching in our schools today? It used to be that people took pride in employment and financial success and would strive to succeed but it seems we have a certain segment of our society that would rather survive off of someone else. What a pathetic system some very ignorant people are trying to enact. EDIT.. the people that are for this are the ones at the bottom of the pay scale that HAVE NO chance for advance due to lack of education and/or ability so they always hate the boss and know he is making to much money.
- If we the tax payer is footing the bill for the corporation, then we need some control. If they bitch about it, let the corporation fail, do not bail them out.
- No. Not all corporations received bailout money.
- Apparently you haven't noticed how GM has been unable to even fill a couple of executive position vacancies because of the restrictions on what they can pay them. I don't disagree with the need for executives to be paid based on performance, but that's the responsibility of the companies and their shareholders. If they refuse to make smart decisions, the company will fail and disappear. Hence the reason to never ever provide bailout packages to companies. It defeats the purpose of the entire system. If you reward companies for poor decisions, they certainly aren't going to make smarter decisions. You don't want government taking any steps towards control of salaries, because government never just takes small steps.
- Why not fix the Tax code to even the playing field.
- No man deserves more the 10 times that of an average worker. There is no man/women alive, which is so productive, that they deserve that kind of money. Our CEO's made 50 times of the average worker in 1960, today its 800 times that. Manufacturing jobs and productive american companies have gone bankrupt at the same rate, as CEO compensation increased. It's different, if a man builds his own company and takes the price.
