How do I get access into my administrative account on my sony vaio with windows xp?

It just says that I don't have administrative privelages so I can't install anything.

1. you need to go into your control panel and access user accounts. make the main account in your name. it should read : your name and below it administrator. if you have multiple accounts usually the person who owns the computer is the admin.
