What is a good college for becoming an administrative assistant?

I'm a junior in high school and was thinking about going to college to become an administrative assistant or some field of business. I like to work with computers (typing, powerpoint ect.) but i don't want to get involved with all the parts of a computer. I also like math, and i am well organized. If you have any other professions I might be good at let me know. Thanks!

  1. Administrative assistant require almost no degree... If you want to work in administration, then you need business degree with MBA possibly. U of Chicago, UPenn, UCLA, UC berkeley, Harvard, U of Michigan all have good business school
  2. Most community colleges have an Associates program in Administrative Assistant or Office Assistant, something along those lines. This isn't a program where the college will matter much; just make sure you'll take courses that cover the typical programs used in an office: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Dreamweaver, etc. You don't need a Bachelors or higher to be an Administrative Assistant, in fact it would probably HURT you to have one because you most likely won't get the specific classes and experience they want you to have. I have a B.A. in English with a minor in Writing and I got passed over for dozens of Administrative Assistant jobs in favor of people who had Associates degrees and specific office experience. Good luck!
  3. To become an admin, you don't need a college degree. Most admins only have hs diplomas while some Exec. Assistants and Legal Assistants have certificates. Very few have college degrees and those that do have degrees in academic fields like English or History.
